From our satisfied clients:

“I was fortunate to travel to Vietnam and Laos as part of a small group headed by Varya.  I had heard that she was an expert in Asian travel, but the two-week experience under her guidance far exceeded my most optimistic expectations. It was an adventure of discovery from every conceivable perspective – historical, artistic, spiritual,  gastronomic, and profoundly human.  Thanks to Varya’s careful planning, knowledge, and  vast network of connections, I was able to visit and admire, along with my fellow travelers, the most remarkable cultural sites, squeeze through bustling markets selling rare delicacies, participate in temple ceremonies, attend extraordinary theatrical performances, slither through narrow, twisted alleys to enjoy the hospitality of secret family lairs, and travel through landscapes of ineffable beauty to reach remote rural villages where life still goes on as it has for millennia.  And, last but not least, the accommodations were first rate and the variety of great food, whether in an urban or rural setting, truly amazing.  Varya is, in my experience, quite simply the best guide any traveler could ever hope to find.”

“I loved my trip with Varya Tours to South India! Varya was a great organizer – we had a great driver and a staff responsive to every need and desire that arose.  The accomodations she chose were the perfect blend of resort and local color.  We went to all the best temples (some still active!), saw handcraft demonstrations, a traditional dance school, tea and spice plantations, and a wildlife refuge.  I really got a great sense of south India – the history, traditions, and art.  Plus the people were so friendly, and the food was awesome! Varya bent over backwards to make sure that we were comfortable and had a great trip.  This was the trip of a lifetime, and I would definitely take another trip with Varya Tours!”

“Varya’s attention to detail made my trip to Vietnam and Laos a great success.  All of the lodgings Varya booked for us were outstanding, and I doubt that I could have found them on my own.  They ranged from an exquisite boutique hotel in Hanoi to charming thatched roofed bungalows set in a tropical garden a block from the Mekong in Vientiane.  Hungry–where to go for lunch or dinner?  Varya had researched the possibilities, keeping in mind various dietary needs of our party, and the food was outstanding.  Several of the restaurants had interesting social development components as well as delicious food.  Our experience was also deepened by the guides Varya found to show us both typical tourist sights as well as some off the beaten track places that we couldn’t have gotten to on our own.  The guides were all very knowledgeable and really pleasant people to talk with.  I had never used a guide in my previous travels, and I now see how much a good guide can enhance the travel experience.”

“A year has passed since we returned from our dream trip to India.  It has taken that long to process this incredibly rich experience.  My family in tow I followed our tireless trip coordinator and tour guide Varya into Kerala and Rajasthan.  She had tailored our trip so that there was something to appeal to every person’s interests:  Dance and theater, food markets and cuisine, history, nature and spiritual life — sometimes rolled up into one experience!  Our very first stop was to the home and studio of a well known dancer and teacher of the classical  Bharata Natyam style.  She and her students not only performed for us.  They had also prepared and then served us a magnificent South Indian lunch.  And that was just the first day.  So  it went for 2 ½ weeks, through coffee plantations and animal preserves, in bustling ancient towns and small friendly villages, on tranquil rivers and madcap highways, Varya laid out for us the infinitely varied treasures that this land has to offer.  It was a remarkable trip, and one that I would (and probably will) repeat in years in to come.”
